Direct quote from BSC #17 Mary Anne's Bad-Luck Mystery:

"Logan and I were going to the dance as cats.  We had both seen the musical Cats and had been very impressed with the wild, furry cat costumes."

This WOULD be the kind of thing they would talk about, wouldn't it?  Stuff like this is the foundation of their relationship.

So it only took me a week to gain four new obsessions.

In chronological order of when I became obsessed:

1. Kyle/Fish on One Life to Live.  So OLTL, is the latest soap to hop on the bandwagon.  Wow, I've missed this crack-fest.  Half kind of adorable and sad, half kind of hilarious and awesome.

2. Camp.   Rented this and it's amazing and oh my god I loved Vlad.  Why can't I find fandom for this????

3. Shelter.  This was actually really good and made me feel all warm and fuzzy.

4.  A Very Potter Musical.  This is my new favorite thing.  Amazing.  Oh.  My.  God.

"That is a boss Zefron Poster!"

"Gonna take you up to Winnipeg THAT'S in Canada!"

The Curse of Mulan

It seems that every time I try to sit down and watch Mulan, some kind of evil forces (Probably Shan Yu) thwart my plans.  For years, actually.

Something ALWAYS comes up.  Sometimes I end up finishing it later, but usually I don't.  Usually when I find the tape, it's half way through.

And during last year's annual movie marathon, I only got up to Hercules, which just happens to be the movie right before Mulan

So yesterday, my schedule called for the 1997 Walt Disney World Planning Video (My personal favorite, 25 Years of Magic Celebration.  Horrid Cake Castle and all.  This one makes me cry like a baby), the 1998 Walt Disney World Planning Video, and Walt Disney Feature Animation's 36th animated classic...Mulan.

And then my mother and I decided to go out for dinner.  There was still time to watch the movie when I got home.  I had started the previews before I left, so i settled in for my favorite animated Chinese epic.

And within the first 60 seconds of the movie, my VCR decided it was time for a nice, tasty, Mulan-flavored snack.  In other words, it ate the tape.  I ordered the DVD from  Amazon, and watched the movie on YouTube this morning.  I'm hoping that with the demise of my ten year olf Mulan video, and the rise of the five year old DVD, the Curse of Mulan might be broken.

So, I've finally gotten around to reading through my BSC collection.

So far
#1: Kristy's Great Idea (PSST...Idea is to start a club for babysitters...)
#2: Claudia and the Phantom Phone Calls (PHANTOM CALLER = ALAN GRAY.  Aren't ya surprised?)
#3: The Truth About Stacey (She has diabetes!  Also, her parents are paranoid!)
#9: The Ghost at Dawn's House (Ghost = Nicky Pike.  Doesn't scare Dawn any less.  And who can blame her?)
#10: Logan Likes Mary Anne! (and Boys!  And Mary Anne has a stalker-like obsession with Cam Geary.)
#11: Kristy and the Snobs (Okay, this one just makes me cry...)

and I am currently on #12: Claudia and the New Girl (Ashley is apparently weird because she wears bell bottoms.  Also, she's a major bitch.)

It's cool that I'm reading books for a fourth grade reading level.  I read these originally in second and third grade, so HA!

Excuse me, but I think Billy Ocean's classic "Get Out Of Dreams, Get Into My Car" is a totally legitimate song, and deserves my $0.99.

Also, TEN more BSC books at Savers (two free, 'cause that's how much of a life I have), 3 VHS tapes (West Side Story, Sleepless In Seattle, and When Harry Met Sally AMY I COPIED YOU.  I don't have enough chick flicks.  A short blue cotton dress, a really flippin' pretty Ralph Lauren skirt ($4.99), and an interesting Michael Kors shirt (marked down to $8, from $79.99).

P.S. I'M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD IN 74 DAYS!  MY HEART IS ALL A FLUTTER.

I went to the mall yesterday and got some pretty clothes, two pairs of flip flops and...

...the first two seasons (packaged together) of Blossom on DVD.  It was half off so, I was like "Whyyyy nooot?"

And it's pretty much amazing.  I was telling my dad about it (he bought me the gift certificate I used to pay for it) and it led to an interesting conversation.

Him: Ucccch, why would you buy that?
Me: Um, because it's awesome.
Him: Is that the one with Joey Lawrence?
Me:...why do you know who Joey Lawrence is???

Then my dad said "WHOA!" in a really awful Joey voice and it was just...awful.

But yay for TV on DVD to make me procrastinate further!

1. My grandmotherly stint in Pippin went surprisingly well, seeing as I was deathly ill (I think I lost about ten pounds...the flu sucks.) the entire week.  Most exciting is getting compliments from people I've never even seen before.   I love musical so much, I'm having a hard time dealing with the fact that I only have one left.

2.  Spring Break is much needed following my post musical/sickness workload.  I'm glad it's here.

3.  The Saver's in Plymouth = MY LIFE FROM NOW ON.  It's brand new and chock full of gold.  I plan to make a return visit with Yma in tow on my birthday next week.

4. I'm slowly becoming addicted to the buffalo wraps they sell at Uncle Jon's.  Yummmm.

5. Orange soda + vanilla ice cream = OTP

And possibly in June with father.

I'm so excited (even though it's so early) that I already made a list (needs narrowing down) of table service restaurants I want to eat at.  Only three of them I have already been to (*)

It's all so authentic! )

Title
: The Starting Line-Up
Author: Kristen/fortuosity
Rating: PG
Summary: Luke’s good at basketball, but he can’t really prove that to Noah from a wheelchair…
Warnings: Wee bit of language. Disclaimer: I don’t really WANT to own a floundering daytime drama…

Author's Notes (A/N):
Last minute entry for [info]luke_noah</lj>'s monthly challenge #2 with the prompt “worth the wait”. First part is set October/November ’07-ish, second part is set January/February ’08-ish. This was inspired by Luke’s past as a basketball star and how the show ignores it. Mistakes are mine, feedback is love.

Luke smirks, showing off his crooked smile Noah has been angling for. )

Okay, so today I finally came to terms with the fact that Cory and Shawn from Boy Meets World are totally in love.

It's something I denied for a long time.  I always thought the subtext-y jokes were fun, but I never, you know, read into it or anything.

Then I watched the wedding episode.  There was actually a second where I honestly thought Shawn was going to kiss him.

Needless to say, I view this show completely different now.

AND, one of my favorite BMW moments:

Cory *protesting cafeteria food*: We say no more macaroni!
Students: No more macaroni!
Cory: We want steak!
Students: We want steak!
Cory: And what do we want with our steak?
Shawn: Macaroni!

Oh, God.

No, like, seriously...

Oh, God.

I somehow managed to snag myself the part of Berthe (pronounced Bayr-ta) in Pippin this year.  I'm Pippin's sassy grandmother, and I have my own song and dance number "No Time at All", where I apparently get carried of by a bunch of guys in the end.  Which is hilarious, but that's a story for a different day.

I can sing the song and all (it's in my range, which is rare.  Apparently Berthe has a low voice :D ) and I don't have that many lines, so that's good.  But I'm nervous already, and the show's not until February.  Ohgodohgodohgod.

In other news... )

Okay, so there's nothing on TV so I was watching That 70's Show and something happened that I was not expecting.

Christopher Knight (Peter Brady) and Barry Williams (Greg Brady). As a couple.

They made some stupid gay puns and finally Red kicked them out of his house because they were Vikings fans, not because they were gay. Which was fun.

Oh, and they're both completely hideous by the way. But I already knew that...

Note to self:

Next time you call the see a suspicious truck in your driveway, make sure that they're not just there to mow your lawn. Before you -I don't know- call the police department...

Good thing I called the regular number and not 911. That would have led to further embarrassment...

Oy.
